What are Polarized Goggles?Updated 3 years ago
Light vibrates in many directions until it bounces off a horizontal surface such as snow or water. Then it vibrates in one direction - horizontally. This is called polarization. Polarization causes highly concentrated light to hit the eye directly, creating glare. To combat glare, polarized lenses have a chemical applied to the lens vertically, so that vertical light may pass, but the harsh horizontal light is blocked. Less glare means less fatigue due to squinting and eye strain, and improved clarity overall.
